Lots of details wrong with this one, but not going to go into all of them because of forum rules. It's fairly obvious that this watch is not built to Rolex' standards. Any real race captain who depends on a watch will remove the Rolex (place it on a shelf at home) and use Seiko, Casio, or whatever brand, preferably in an all plastic casing as “the“ countdown watch. You can also check the serial # at 6 o'clock of the rehaut and perhaps verify if it matches the watch. Test the countdown chronograph function to see if it works right (make sure you know it works). That is where I would start. Does the watch also come with any documentation (warranty card, instruction manual, tags, bill of sale, etc.)?
